Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee convened an administrative meeting in Habra, North 24 Parganas, where she launched several development projects while vehemently opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Amidst the absence of Habra MLA Jyotipriya Mallick, currently in ED custody for ration corruption charges.
Expressing her firm opposition to the CAA Chief Minister said, "I will raise slogans. CAA is not acceptable, religious hatred is not acceptable, and racism is not acceptable.Throw away the CAA law and you will remain in good health. I will fight if someone comes to take away your citizenship. I am giving credentials to the refugees. I will not let them become refugees anymore. There is an attempt to take away your land, I will not let it happen."
CM further added, "When BJP sees a Sikh, it says Khalistani, when it sees a Muslim, it says Pakistani, and when it sees a Bengali, it says Bangladeshi!"
"BJP can't tolerate Bengalis, BJP is a terrible and ugly party" said Mamata Banerjee from the stage.
Addressing concerns over Aadhaar card cancellations, Mamata questioned the validity of such actions, highlighting the bureaucratic hurdles faced by marginalized communities. She emphasized the need for inclusivity and condemned religious hatred and racism, asserting.
